Give her luxuriously scented bath cubes in this Red and Black Hand painted wooden box embellished with gold European stroke work and a vintage label seal. The colors and style suggest passion and make me want to dance the Flamingo. The box measures 6.5 x 2.75 x 2 inches with two gold-toned hinges and contains 4 scented bath cubes.
Once the bath cubes are used, the box can be re-purposed to hold anything from cotton balls on the bathroom vanity, to jewelry on a dresser, to cough drops on a night side stand, to keys on a foyer table.

The inspiration for this piece began with a challenge from TinkersShop on Etsy to use a vintage label from her shop to create a unique item. The man on the label has a romantic mystic about him. Is he guarding a secret or inviting me in? The label needed to be a seal to reserve something special for someone special.
I was drawn in by the vivid red, deep black, and gold highlights of the label. It connoted energy, strength, depth, and luxury. The more I looked at the label the more the man seemed to want to give me something.
So, I asked myself, "What would I want from him?" Definitely something sensual. Aha! "I would want an aromatic soothing bath."
I found the scented bath cubes, and a box that was the perfect size. In keeping with the color scheme of the label, I painted the box in red and black, and added the elegant and delicate stylized floral motif for a touch of the feminine. I lined the inside of the box with a cloud of white batting to cushion the cubes.
If you'd like to be able to re-purpose the box once the bath cubes have been enjoyed, use an exacto knife or other sharp blade to cut the label/seal along the line where the bottom of the black lid touches the red box (between the first two lines of gold text.)
