Red River Jasper with African Trade Beads Handmade Necklace Set

Product Description

Red River Jasper is an amazing stone I think - such a rich red color with wonderful pattern . I used six fairly large ( 30mm ) flat discs in this necklace - each one is unique and so beautiful . The little black and turquoise colored , chevron shaped beads are vintage African glass trade beads - they are also called snake beads ( I bought them at least 25 years ago from some African traders at the Santa Fe flea market when it was in it's heyday ) .The little black and white ceramic beads are from Peru . I added some vintage silver colored Indian beads in very neat shapes - I am pretty sure they are brass washed with silver . The clasp is Sterling Silver in a wonderful sort of primitive flower pattern . The earrings are two and a half inches long and surprisingly light because the big bead is hollow . The earwires are Sterling Silver .
