Product Description
The John Wood Case, by Ruth Suckow, is a fictional novel about an embezzlement scandal in a small Iowa town at the turn of the twentieth century. John Wood, an important man in town, embezzled from his company, and the book traces the reactions of the townspeople, his family, and his former employer. It is considered a traditional novel for the decade it was published (1959), with a sweet, homey treatment of the characters, and a Christian theme about forgiveness.

This novel was published by The Viking Press in 1959. This is the "second printing before publication." It has 314 pages and 14 chapters. It was the last novel by Ruth Suckow.

This book is in good to very good condition. It is missing its dust jacket (a nice illustration of the gabled eaves of a house). The denim and gray fabric hardback cover has striking midcentury/deco typography, which is carried throughout the book. The ends of the spine show very minor wear.
