This original watercolor depicts the highly popular, always happy black lab dog. The lab is painted in shades of dark tones of black, and brown against the light blue sky background.
The black lab is one of the most popular dog breed in this country, in fact, it usually ranks the number one. This watercolor portrays the lab in its true nature, always happy, smiling and ready to play.

Process:
This portrait was first sketched with pencil to get the character and form of the dog. Then watercolor washes were applied, first wet on wet and then after that dried, layers of washes were added to get the detail of the lab.

This is an original watercolor, a one of a kind work of art.

It is unmatted and unframed.

It is signed on the front and signed and dated on the bottom in the white border. This white border is around the painting to make matting and framing easy.
