True elegance and class, along with just the right amount of sparkle and flash, are captured in this custom handmade black and gold guitar strap with gold edge trim. The top fabric is glistening black Charmeuse satin. Running up the edge of the guitar strap is a 1-inch wide strip of satin ribbon machined embroidered with a gold maíandros pattern, also known as a Greek key pattern. The back of the guitar strap is lined with glittering gold spandex and the leather tabs are top quality premium grade black suede leather.

This is a unique, one of a kind guitar strap in its use of timeless imagery like this golden maíandros motif. This is one of the iconic images of ancient Greece and was especially prevalent during the Geometric Period of Greek art, roughly 900-700 B.C . It was used to decorate everything from pottery to roads and symbolized infinity and unity. Now, it has made its way onto a 21st century custom handmade guitar strap.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

I love to find things to use on my guitar straps that are not only visually engaging but have some symbolism, some meaning, that the wearer carries with them onto the stage. I remembered long ago studying Greek architecture and the importance of the maíandros pattern in daily Greek life. When I saw this ribbon, I just had to put it on a guitar strap. I hope you like it.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
