This shocking pink, blue, and green handmade guitar strap is just plain fun! The polished cotton fabric that covers the front of the guitar strap has a watermark tie dye pattern dominated by shocking pink, blue, and green varying from intensely deep colors to very soft pastels with hints of purple, turquoise, and indigo. The watermark pattern, rather than displaying the more conventional structured imagery of tie dye, is wonderfully randomized and is achieved using the fold and tie technique. The fabric is folded and tied, then submerged or saturated using a particular dye, the process being repeated several times changing the positioning of the ties and folds, and using different dye colors and application techniques. The result is a range of color intensities with a randomness to the pattern that mimics a watermark.

The back lining of the guitar strap is shocking pink satin and the leather tabs are top quality black premium suede leather. This is a really visually compelling and complex guitar strap, eye catching and expressive. I hope you like it.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

As a child of the 60's and 70's, I frankly got a little sick of tie dye and came to see it as tired and just a bit campy. But, as I learned more about the history of the technique, which extends back almost a millennium to ancient China, I started looking for fabrics that presented a less stereotypical approach and result for this kind of textile treatment. I am very pleased with this fabric, its look and color. I hope you like it, too.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
