A truly exquisite jewel tone purple and black striped guitar strap of hand woven fabric! This is a one-of-a-kind custom guitar strap created completely by artisan hands, the weaver who sat at her loom weaving this fabric and my own hand construction of this guitar strap. The purple cotton threads variegate from medium purple to royal purple to almost a purple fuchsia across the face of the guitar strap, with fine black lines in between the purple stripes. The back portion of the weave includes green and turquoise thread accents that form colorful rectangles, a quiet but effective and interesting detail that adds to the uniqueness of the guitar strap. The back lining is blue black Duchess satin, a very thick, durable member of the satin family with a subtle sheen, and the leather tabs are top quality black premium suede leather.

The fabric is made from 100% American mercerized cotton which readily accepts fabric dyes and results in beautiful color hues. The cotton is grown, spun and dyed in the US and put on recycled cones. The fabric was woven on a four shaft loom and took 5 hours. The colored cotton stripes are outlined by a smooth black line to enhance the vibrancy of the beautiful jewel tones that are based on a concept of five primary colors. The intricate pattern provides scrolled, almost Celtic-like details in the weave structure.

Textile weaving is as old as human civilization itself. The earliest depiction of a loom was found painted on the side of a 4,000 year old pottery bowl unearthed in Egypt but there is archaeological evidence that places wooden looms even earlier in man's history. As technological advances were made, hand looms gave way to computerized looms and more conventional weave patterns. As society rediscovers the uniqueness and quality of hand woven fabrics, hand weaving has begun to regain its place as a valuable artisan craft. I am very proud to be able to offer this extraordinary guitar strap.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
