This is, I believe, one of my most elegant guitar straps. The guitar strap is a beautiful glistening crepe satin that variegates from deep purple to shimmering silver to glossy black. The front of the guitar strap is hand embroidered with a Christian Celtic cross comprised of dark purple and light purple satin embroidery thread. The interior edges of the cross are outlined in metallic silver embroidery thread and the exterior edges are outlined in metallic purple embroidery thread with turquoise, pink, and gold highlighting metallic threads. The four points of the cross, as well as the central point of the cross, each have a single freshwater pearl marking them. The back lining of the strap is deep royal purple satin and the leather tabs are top quality dark gray premium suede leather that picks up and complements the transition points in the satin as the colors move from black to silver. I hope I have done an adequate job of capturing the comforting majesty of both the symbol and the faith.

The presence of purple in Christian iconography is based on the use of purple by prior regional cultures as the color of royalty, authority, and power. Purple dye was produced by a rare Mediterranean mollusk and because it was very costly, its use was typically limited to those who possessed official power. It was, in fact, illegal for those who did not have approval by a recognized authority to be seen wearing purple. As the Church made inroads in governance, the symbols of authority, including the use of purple, made inroads into the Church. Over millennia, purple has come to symbolize the absolute power and authority of Christ in the world and in the hearts of mankind.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

As a Christian, when I take on Christian symbols for my guitar straps, I try very hard to create imagery that is at once both humble and majestic.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
