Scottish heritage with a bit of attitude is the mainstay of this sparkling Royal Stewart plaid custom handmade guitar strap. The plaid pattern in this guitar strap is Stewart Clan Dress Plaid comprised of a sparkling metallic weave of dominating red highlighted by gold, yellow, white, green and blue threads. The back lining of the guitar strap is sharp red crushed satin and the leather tabs are premium quality black suede leather.

While there is a regal and noble history to clan plaids, that staid tradition was usurped and mocked by the vanguard of punk rockers of the 1970's, especially those originating in the UK, a refutation of the class status and identification inherent in the clan system. Stewart plaid was especially targeted because it is the clan of the Queen of England. I hope what I have achieved with this guitar strap is a tip of the hat to the legacy of the clan structure while allowing for a bit of good natured ribbing.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

I have always like the irreverence of punk music, the intentional contrariness of its style and symbols. Some of the message seems to be that false distinctions of status damage society and need taming. I can live with that. Hope you like this guitar strap!

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
