This is one of the most unique and beautiful handmade guitar straps I have ever been able to offer my patrons. The front of the guitar strap is hand loom woven cotton threads of brilliant turquoise blue and black in a combination of classic shadow weave and diamond twill weave, created by well-known Tampa Bay textiles artisan Teri Hasbrouck of PalmTree Handwovens. The interlacing of the turquoise and black threads results in a complex three dimensional pattern of narrow vertical and horizontal stripes, precise diagonal zigzag lines, and concentric crossed boxes. To the eye, this guitar strap is an intricate geometric mosaic. To the touch, it is thick, soft, and supple. The back lining of the guitar strap is matching turquoise blue Dupioni silk with a quiet, subtle shimmer that complements rather than distracts from the front focus of the guitar strap, and the leather tabs are premium quality black suede leather.

Shadow weave design was introduced by Mary Meigs Atwater, one of the weaving world's major power house artisans, in 1942. As a Paris trained artist, she brought a new sensibility to weaving artistry beyond mere function and durability and created a monograph series, called "Recipe Books", with detailed drawings of her weaving concepts. She was astoundingly creative and her monographs revitalized what had been, up to that time, an art form relegated to historical quaintness. I am pleased to be able to offer a guitar strap that incorporates this amazing woman's genius.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

Teri Hasbrouck has created several weavings for me and each one is more intricate and lovely than the one before. This one is no exception.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
