Rich, intense colors are the hallmark of this beautiful Mexican blanket custom handmade guitar strap. The front of the guitar strap is loom woven fabric from a blue dominated serape imported from Mexico. Broad and narrow horizontal stripes of blue, red, white, orange, yellow, brown, aqua, turquoise, black, crimson, pink, and green run the full length of the guitar strap, with the colors transitioning abruptly for heightened impact. The back lining of the guitar strap is thick, shining royal blue Duchess satin that matches the large blue stripes on the front of the guitar strap, and the leather tabs are brown suede leather. This is an absolutely gorgeous guitar strap that you will be proud to wear.

Mexican serapes are iconic emblems of Mexican culture and folk art and seem to capture the exuberance, the joie de vivre, of Mexico. Mexico's cottage industry of rural women weaving these fabrics has been under assault from other countries such as China and India, that can produce similar goods less expensively. But, there is something inherently valuable in knowing that individual hands worked these fibers into a beautiful fabric that I could put on a guitar strap for you.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lambs wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

It's important to me to offer affordable guitar straps but it's also important to me that the materials I use are as authentic as possible and of excellent quality. When I ordered this batch of Mexican blankets, they arrived with tiny little bits of dried grass on them. I cannot tell you how that thrilled me. I could just imagine a breeze blowing through a small Mexican village, depositing that small piece of grass on that blanket, the blanket some anonymous lady had woven with her own hands. Call me romantic but it just made that blanket a little more special.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
