Whether you call it light turquoise or aquamarine, this beautiful handmade guitar strap is the height of quiet, impressive elegance. The front fabric is light turquoise Japanese satin brocade interwoven with finely detailed lotus blossoms, cherry blossoms, magnolia blossoms, and orchid blossoms in white, pink, blue, purple, and green. The lotus blossoms are defined with a single stitch outline in darker teal blue. The back lining of the guitar strap is dark teal blue thick, lustrous Duchess satin that matches the teal blue outlines and the leather tabs are thick buckskin suede hand stitched with sinew colored thread that blends with the neutral color of the buckskin.

Brocade as we typically think of it is densely woven, somewhat structured imagery, best typified in European brocade. Japanese brocade is vastly different, delicate, and generally carries a quiet, serene feeling with it, again, reflective of the culture that conceives and produces it. The detail in this fabric is truly breathtaking. Tiny single stitches are critical to the outlines and images, the colors are bright but not garish, and while the lines in this fabric have a sweeping curvature to them, they do not dominate the imagery; rather, they accentuate the delicacy of the imagery. I have tried to include several pictures which I hope adequately capture for you what a beautifully detailed fabric this is.

My guitar straps are amazingly comfortable. The 3 inch width allows for weight distribution over 50% more area than conventional guitar straps and even solid body bass players have commented on how comfortable my guitar straps are. Further, because there are 3 bottom layers of fabric between your shoulder and the polypropylene foundation, there is a soft cushion to help further distribute the weight of your guitar without holding the body heat that standard lamb's wool shoulder pads retain, so your strap is soft, cool, and comfortable. No more aching neck or shoulder and no more pressure points.

I love Japanese satin brocade. It is one of my favorite materials to work with in making my guitar straps because, while it possesses a peaceful serenity, it also possesses a richness of color and detail that gives it a kind of understated grandeur. I just think this is one of my most beautiful guitar straps.

CONSTRUCTION - The guitar strap foundation is 3 inch wide (7.62 centimeters) and 6 foot long (1.83 meters) 2000-pound test commercial grade polypropylene strap material. The strap adjusts from a maximum length of 6 feet (1.83 meters) to a minimum length of 39 inches (.99 meters).

LEATHER TABS - The leather tabs are comprised of a 3 inch by 8 inch section of top quality leather, folded over a commercial grade plastic anchor bar and trimmed to shape. The two sides of the leather are then glued with commercial strength tanner glue and double whip stitched with heavy waxed leather sewing thread designed specifically for stitching leather. The button hole is hand punched and cut to precisely fit a standard 12mm guitar pin.
