This gemstone set was made using semi precious unakite gemstone chip beads in a pistachio green with splashes of pinkish to peachy orange colors which is very characteristic of unakite. I used some of my 11 mm handmade lampwork glass beads in a coral color as accent beads between the unakite beads. I chose 14k gold filled findings for a luxurious warm rich tone that is just perfect to complete this stylish set.

Unakite which is also called epidote, gets its name from the Greek word epidosis, meaning growing together. It is a combination of red jasper and green epidote that is solidly bound together. While unakite is found in many places, it was first spotted in the Unakas mountains of North Carolina in the USA . This is how it got it's name. It is also commonly found in South Africa, China, and Brazil.
