Handmade Pink and Red Beaded Polymer Clay CoveredTin with Flowers

This pretty tin would make an attractive container for all sorts of little treasures. This decorated box measures 4 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches tall. I covered a metal candy tin in red polymer clay which I stamped with a floral design. I dusted the raised surfaces with purple Pearl Ex, creating an iridescent magenta sort of color. Before baking I strung glass beads on wires and pressed them into the clay, securing with super glue and additional clay. I appliqued pink polymer clay flowers to the top and sides and added a pink bow to one corner of the lid. I covered the bottom of the clay covered tin with red felt.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

I was inspired by several different projects in Polymer Clay Extravaganza by Lisa Pavelka. I've been experimenting with covering tin, cans, and boxes with polymer clay, and I really enjoyed incorporating beads into this design.
