Polymer Clay Covered Jar Decorated with Blue and Yellow Beaded Lizards

Product Description
This colorful little jar was created by covering a 2.5 ounce glass baby food jar with polymer clay. I swirled together dark blue and dark green clay and covered the jar and lid with the mixed clay. Then I sculpted two yellow lizards and two teal blue lizards which I sculpted onto the lid and sides of the jar. Their eyes are glass beads (four different kinds and colors) and were attached to the clay with wire and liquid polymer clay. I strung iridescent and sparkling glass beads on heavy thread, a unique mix for each lizard, and secured down the center of the lizards backs with liquid polymer clay. I covered the ends of the line of beads with additional polymer clay. I also accented the lid with green and blue glass beads. I dusted the noses and spines of each lizard with green Pearl Ex powder. I sealed the jar and the lid with high gloss glaze and covered the bottom of the jar with green felt. This fun little jar measures 3 1/4 inches tall and would be great for storing your tiny treasures.
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
This lizard jar was inspired by Harlamy on ArtFire. When I asked for suggestions on my Facebook Fan Page for different types of jars to make, Harlamy suggested a lizard jar. Well, I just couldn't get the idea of these bright little lizards out of my head! The beads add a little extra sparkle and color.
