Blue and Yellow Sunflower Polymer Clay Covered Beaded Decorated Jar

Product Description

This colorful blue and yellow sunflower jar was created by covering a 2.5 ounce glass baby food jar and lid with polymer clay. The blue background has been textured and bright yellow polymer clay sunflowers have been appliqued to the sides and the lid. Between each of the three sunflowers on the jar is a green leaf shape decorated with with diamond shapes and secured to the clay with liquid polymer clay and pins capped with green glass seed beads. The sunflowers have been brushed with golden yellow Pearl Ex powder for a gorgeous shimmer. The centers of each sunflower have been decorated with yellow and gold glass seed beads which were secured with pins and liquid polymer clay. Orange, crystal clear, and yellow acrylic beads have been added around the base of the jar and the and the lid. I sealed the jar and lid with high gloss glaze and covered the bottom with blue felt. This pretty little jar measures about three inches tall and would be a perfect way to store your tiny treasures!

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

I have to thank Sonya, of Silver River jewelry for the idea for this decorated jar. When I asked my fans on Facebook what kind of decorated jars I should make she suggested a sunflower jar. This turned out to be a very bright, happy little jar. Turning empty baby food jars into these pretty little stash jars is a wonderful way to recycle and keep them out of the landfills.
