Product Description
This one of a kind Halloween sculpture also doubles as a candle holder. The spooky witch was sculpted by hand from polymer clay and wears a tattered black dress. Her face and hands were sculpted from glow in the dark clay, for a truly magical effect in the dark. Her hair is soft yarn. Of course every witch needs her familiar to help with her magic spells, and this one has a black cat named Rufus. The witch's true name is a closely guarded secret: to know a magical being's name is to have power over that being. Rufus was also sculpted by hand in polymer clay and has textured fur and glow in the dark eyes. He stands on his hind legs peering into the cauldron. The cauldron was created by covering a glass votive candle holder with polymer clay. I cut out stars just under the rim and filled the shapes with glow in the dark powder mixed with high gloss glaze. Before baking the candle holder I dusted the clay with purple Pearl Ex powder and added iridescent beads to the rim of the cauldron. The flames licking up the sides were sculpted from red, orange, yellow, and glow in the dark polymer clay. I also used glow in the dark dimensional paint for some of the flames. They look almost like they're flickering in the dark. The ring of rocks around the base of the cauldron were also sculpted from polymer clay. The thick base was sculpted from polymer clay as well and the bottom is covered with green felt which I've signed and dated. Before baking the base I sprinkled the clay with green and bronze embossing powder and gold glitter. This piece measures 10 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and is a truly unique work of art. A vanilla scented votive candle will be included.
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
This started out as a simple idea and turned into an amazing project. I love creating unique home decor for Halloween, and adding in lots of magical, glow in the dark effects. The witch's glowing face and hands show the magic manifesting as she gazes into her cauldron and casts her spell. Each element has a different level of glow: the flames, the stars, the witch, and the cat's eyes all have their own level of intensity. The picture doesn't really do this justice in the dark, just gives you an idea of what it looks like. For maximum effect expose all glowing areas to bright light for at least 10 minutes.
