This unique mirror wall hanging features two beautiful birds in red and blue and is accented with hearts. These lovebirds were sculpted by hand from Premo polymer clay. The red bird has textured feathers highlighted with red, pink, and gold Pearl Ex powders. Red acrylic crystals embellish the bird's back and metallic gold leaves were added to her wings. Her crest is made from red glass seed beads and tube beads and is topped with tiny faux pearls. She measures 3 inches long from the top of her crest to her tail feathers and has a 4 inch wingspan. The male bird was sculpted with blue polymer clay and also has textured feathers. I used blue and teal Pearl Ex powders to highlight his feathers and body. He has blue green acrylic crystals on his back. His crest is composed of blue glass tube beads and seed beads and is topped with light blue glass beads. He also has metallic leaves attached to his wings. He measures 3 1/2 inches from his crest to his tail and has a wingspan of 5 inches. Both birds have been sealed with high gloss varnish. The mirror is sandwiched between two layers of blue clay and a sturdy wire hanger has been securely attached. Five hearts decorate the top of the mirror. Three of the hearts were sculpted from polymer clay and have a raised design and were highlighted with Pearl Ex powders. The other two hearts are wood shapes I covered with blue Liquid Kato PolyClay and dusted with blue Pearl Ex powder before baking. The powder created an interesting texture on the hearts as well as adding a lovely shimmer. All the hearts were sealed with high gloss varnish. At the bottom of the mirror is a triple layered heart in shades of red and pink. The top heart was dusted with pink Pearl Ex powder. I attached an eye pin with a pink glass flower bead, a blue and white porcelain bird bead, a blue glass flower bead, a blue glass heart bead, and a metal flower bead cap. A heart shaped jump ring connects a red polymer clay teardrop which has been colored with blue and gold Pearl Ex powders. The triple layer heart and the teardrop have been sealed with high gloss varnish. The back of the mirror wall hanging is covered with felt and has been signed and dated. The entire piece measures 13 inches tall from the top of the hanger to the bottom of the teardrop and 10 inches wide.
