Not full sized at the winding end and not 'mini' this is a MIDI sized nostie at 9". Winding end is 4.5-5" long, handle is 4" long with a smooth, easy grip for average sized hands. A little groove in the turning even gives a small grip for a forefinger on this handle. Beautifully spalted warm pecan wood with darker pecan tones giving the piece a one of a kind coloring within the woodgrain.

This is a MIDI nostepinne made from wood felled by Hurricane Katrina."My husband, John, learned to spin wool right alongside of me when we were displaced from our home due to Hurricane Katrina. We were so enamored with all the steps from sheep to socks, sweaters, blankets, or shawls, that we learned to make tools needed for spinning.
Each nostepinne is hand turned, made of wood collected by John as he had to adventure into our Pre-Katrina neighborhood, near New Orleans, to clear timber...all part of his responsibilities with the U.S. Coast Guard. Each nostepinne is a 'little bit of Katrina history'.
