Bright Constellations is a felted painting measuring 8" by 12.5" with beaded embellishments, mounted on an 11" by 15" canvas painted with an acrylic glaze. The painting began as fibers laid out in a pattern, wet felted, then embellished with hand spun art yarn and glass seed beads. After embellishment, the painting was once again wet felted to secure the embellishments in a solid felt. After drying, the painting was mounted to the prepared canvas.

I wanted to paint as a child, but was unable to realize that dream until I discovered felting and found that the fibers acted very much like watercolors when felted.
