Growth is a felted painting measuring 10" by 19" with beaded embellishments, mounted on a 12" by 24" canvas painted with an acrylic glaze. The painting began as fibers laid out in a pattern, wet felted, then embellished with stitching. After embellishment, the painting was once again wet felted to secure the embellishments in a solid felt. After drying, the painting was mounted to the prepared canvas.

I always wanted to paint as a child but my dream was never realized until I discovered felting and found that the fibers reacted much like watercolors.
