Bodega Bay is a felted painting measuring12" by 15" with stitched and beaded embellishments, mounted on a 16" by 20" canvas painted with an acrylic glaze. The painting began as fibers laid out in a pattern, wet felted, then embellished with needle felting; wet felted again and embellished with stitching; set felted again and embellished with glass seed beads. After the final embellishment, the painting was once again wet felted to secure the embellishments in a solid felt. After drying, the painting was mounted to the prepared canvas.

I never thought of myself as a painter until I discovered felt and how the fibers acted much like watercolors.
