These orange, green and yellow striped lampwork glass earrings are the longest dangles in the Jetson-inspired series and yet at 5 grams (0.18 oz) you will barely feel their weight at all. The featured rondelle glass beads are mostly translucent green and yellow striped, with more opaque, bright orange red rings at the top and bottom for an extra pop of color. This pattern is very common in Indonesian lampwork. I think the colors are a perfect match for the mid-century modern style which inspired them.

The mid-century modern aesthetic in architecture and design features clean lines, organic shapes, and bright accent colors. Mid-century modern furnishings seem to float above their supports like one of Alexander Calder's mobiles. I've tried to imitate that feeling in these earrings, and in all the Jetsons series of jewelry. I wanted the pieces to act almost like tiny mobiles which are set in motion as you move.

These earrings are great to wear with retro or vintage styles, as well as with sleek, understated contemporary clothing. They look great with short hair or up-dos, but I wouldn't hesitate to wear them with longer hair that is tucked back or behind the ears. (Prototype earrings are used to test wearability. The earrings you buy have never been worn.)
