This faceted amazonite briolette is a lovely aqua color. It is surrounded by different hues of aqua color seed beads that highlight the gemstone in this one of a kind brooch. Size 11 seed beads in transparent aqua, matte silver lined aqua and transparent dark silver lined aqua and size 15 seed beads in silver lined aqua blue add texture and shimmer to this stone. Looped fringe done in transparent aqua and accented with amazonite pebbles add a finishing touch along the bottom. An amazonite pebble is at the top point of the pear shape brooch. Amazonite is associated with December as a birthstone, but is not the usual one for December.
Under florescent light, this stone has more of a bluish color cast to it. Under daylight and tungsten lighting, it has the aqua color.

The brooch is 3 1/4 inches (approx. 9cm.) long, including the looped fringe, and approximately 2 inches (5.08cm) wide at the widest point.


The embroidery is done on a heavy interfacing, with a backing of soft, off white ultra suede. It closes with a nickle free pin back.

It is believed that amazonite calms emotions, and empowers the wearer with courage. It is also credited with enhancing creativity and self expression. Amazonite is associated with the throat chakra and is said to be effective at aligning the heart and solar plexus chakras. Amazonite is also said to inspire truth, integrity, communication, clarity and openess.
