Eight marquis shaped, shimmery kyanite petals form the center of this one of a kind, artisan flower brooch. A 6mm gold crackle glass bead is the center of the flower. Size 11 seed beads in matte teal, transparent teal, matte light gold and tiny size 15 seed beads in teal make up the bead embroidered background the flower petals rest on. Five strands of fringe consisting of transparent teal and matte light gold seed beads, along with teal and matte light gold bugle beads have two more kyanite petals and thee more crackle beads on the ends. Crackle beads are glass beads that have been heated and quickly cooled, so they "crackle" on the inside and resemble ice.

The brooch is 2 1/2 inches (approx. 6.32cms) wide and the total length, including fringe is 4 inches (10.16cms.). Even though the brooch is fair sized, the colors give it a subtle look, so it will be seen on your outfit, but won't overwhelm it.

This brooch is embroidered on strong interfacing and is backed with a soft, off white ultra suede. The clasp is a nickle free pin back.

I try and sign and date all my bead embroidered pieces. Since they are one of a kind pieces, I don't number them.


Kyanite is believed to enhance loyalty, honesty and serenity. It is also believed to encourage vivid dreams, and clear visualization.

The teal and light gold are an unusual color combination-at least I think so. I chose them because when I held the kyanite petal beads in the sunlight, I could see pale gold running through them in places.
