Black Heart Pendant Necklace, Fall Colored Beads, Polymer Clay

Here is a bold necklace for autumn casual wear. This necklace features a black heart pendant with purple highlights. Coordinating fall colored beads are added for warmth and color. Also great for casual Halloween wear if you do not wish to wear spooky items.

All the polymer clay beads and the pendant were hand crafted in my home studio in Eastern Washington state. For the black heart and textured beads, I started with black polymer clay. Before curing, I dusted them with purple mica powder to give a touch of color and a metallic shine.

The fall colored beads are a combination of black, gold, silver and orange and purple mixes. All were hand formed and no two are exactly alike. After curing, I sanded the beads and hand buffed them with a soft cloth for a satin finish.

The black heart pendant is strung on black cotton beading cord. Cord ends are knotted and accented with seed beads. Black and orange polymer clay disks finish one end of the cord; the other end is finished with a simple loop. This comprises the necklace clasp.

The polymer clay heart measures approximately 2 inches at the widest by 2 1/2 inches long. The black heart necklace measures approximately 21 3/4 inches.
