Sparkly and flirty 1920's style black flapper dress made with upcycled sequin and beaded lined wool jersey top with bead fringe at the hipline, and black chiffon, back dipping handkerchief hem with double back panels.

The top has a metal separating zipper at center back and a hook and eye at the top.

The dress probably should be worn with a short, straight black skirt under it, or if you are adventurous, leotard panties and black net stockings would be terrific!

The top is marked Medium, and measures as follows:

Bust ~ 40"
Hip ( around bottom) ~ 38"
Center front length ~ 17"
Center Back length ~ 14"
Shoulder to bottom front ~ 22"
Across shoulders, back ~ 16"

The chiffon skirt is shortest in the front, is a single layer, and measures 24" from the hip line to the point of the hem. The rest of the chiffon pieces taper in length and the back under layer measures 35" and the top layer measures 22.5".

I have put this under costumes, but it conceivably could be worn as cocktail or evening dress, depending on the occasion.

I made this dress in 1986 when Io played Vera in a short run local production of "Mame". I owned the top and added the chiffon handkerchief skirt for dramatic interest. I also wore a black sequin straight skirt under it, which I made from a sleeveless sheath that I had, but I have no idea where that ended up.
