This gorgeous handmade leather masquerade mask juxtaposes the richness of natural leather with the elegance of decorative stitching and a smooth rounded inset carnelian stone. The dark red carnelian cabochon "third eye" gleams through a hole neatly carved out of the leather on the forehead of the mask. Rust-colored waxed braided cord is skillfully whip-stitched around the perimeter and the eye holes of the mask, to match the carnelian stone and complement the leather which is dyed light brown and sealed to a satin finish. Golden organdy ribbon ties complete the mask.

This ostensibly simple yet deceptively detailed handcrafted mask would complete an elegant masquerade costume where the goal is not to be flashy, but classy. It is a beautiful understated mask for Halloween, Mardi Gras, Carnival, or any other masquerade event.

This mask may also be used by a wizard, sorcerer, mage, cleric, druid, or other character in a larp (live action role play), as it endows the wearer with the True Seeing ability (subject, of course, to the approval of your game-master). ;-)

My leather masks are designed to handle normal wear, but please don't wear them in a rainstorm or immerse them in liquid, as too much moisture can damage the leather and/or dyes. I provide a piece of sticky-back felt with each mask purchase, which you can use to customize the comfort of your mask if necessary.
