This is one of my smoke fired vessels.
It stands at approx. 4" tall.

If you are unfamiliar, let me tell you a little about the process: The pot is thrown on the potter's wheel. Next, it is burnished until it is smooth. Then it is bisque-fired in a kiln. After that, the vessel is wrapped in paper with a variety of natural and man-made materials. The parcel is placed in a pit in the ground. Nestled in a bed of mulch with other pots, a fire is then made on top of the pit. After hours of burning, I cover the pit for a day or two. The pots can then be unearthed, washed, dried and polished with wax.

Each piece is totally and completely unique.

This piece is NOT meant to hold food or liquid. It is only for decorative purposes.
