Product Description
This 4oz Green Geode Spinning or Felting Batts contains a wool, BFL, bamboo, firestar, & angelina. The batt has a black wool exterior to hide the green layer on the inside. These Geode Batts were thought up and named by my husband!

In nature each geode is unique and the true beauty is only visible once they have been opened. The vast variety of size, colors of the crystals make each geode special. These geode batts mimic nature with their black wool exterior and beautiful colors hidden away on the inside. Every Geode Batt is uniquely made waiting for you to discover its secrets!

My batts take a bit of work but I believe the end results are worth it! I typically dye my own fleece, rovings, silk, bamboo, and firstar in the colors that I want to make my batts. After the normal dyeing process (soak, dye, set, cool, wash, rinse, dry) I am ready to start making my batts. I choose the look I want to go for and then I measure out my batt ingredients. My 4oz batts come to you as 2, 2oz batts. I do this so that I may get them as identical as possible and also for consistency. In some cases I first precard the colors separately in order to nicely blend the roving, firestar, and angelina (or any other add ins). I like for my batts to be smooth when they are finished unless I am making a chunky art batt. Once the fibers have been blended together to my satisfaction I take them off my drum carder and weigh them out again. I put my fibers together in the order I would like to card them so that both 2oz batts match. After carding I double check the batts to make sure they are up to my standards and then photo and list them. This process takes a bit longer but I have had some wonderful feedback about my batts and the way they are blended and smooth. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them!

Most of these are all hand dyed by me with professional acid based & fiber reactive dyes. Also though I do my best to wash and rinse all dye out of my batts you may find that when you spin it up and wash it there is a small amount of color leakage. This is normal and should only happen the first few times if that.

If you have any questions please ask. I happily take custom orders. Thank you for visiting my shop.
