This bowl is 9" OD and nearly 3" in height. The bowl is finished with several coats of dilute Deft wipe-on polyurethane (WOP), then waxed & buffed with Tripoli, White Diamond & Carnauba wax via the Beall buffing system. The finish is food safe, but is not recommended for wet food usage. Since the bowl is rather shallow, I envisioned it being used as a centerpiece or decorative focal point. Please note, the wooden eggs are for display only; they are not included with the price of the bowl.

This bowl was turned from a tree that was taken down because the Emerald Ash Borer made it across the Mississippi River. The tree was NOT infected, I assure anyone who has that concern. The ash trees are being cut down in advance with the intent to prevent the insect infestation from spreading.

All of my turnings are from eco-friendly sources, being from trees that were taken down by storms, because of construction, or as in this case, the nearby towns are removing their ash trees.

The photos are of the bowl that you will receive, this is now available for sale; it is not a prototype or "sample". The item you order is the item you will receive.
