Do you want to make a unique collar for your cat, or as a gift or to give to an animal shelter? The collars are easy and fun to make, but you can't buy the hardware for them in any brick and mortar store. Most online sources sell them in quantity for people who make the collars to sell. I'm making them available in packages of two sets (if you only want one, or you can use more than two, please email me at heidirand@gmail.com) and I'll calculate the shipping. The cost for a single set is $3.00, and the shipping is $1.00. I'm making these available in conjunction with my online class on CraftEdu, where I teach you to make pet collars from repurposed garments, that's clothing in no shape to give to charity. You can also make the collars from any other fabric, used, new, or even fabric that you print yourself.

The cat collar hardware consists of a breakaway buckle (so the collar comes apart if your cat snags it on something), a slide so the collar can be adjusted for size, and a bell and ring. The cat collars only come in one size.

I started making pet collars using the fabric that I design and print myself. I expanded to making them with repurposed fabric, using skirts and blouses that had far outlived their use as garments. My hope is that people who volunteer at animal shelters or, for example, with feral cat organizations, will be able to make collars inexpensively.
