Blown glass Christmas ornament. A Saturn that actually LOOKS like Saturn! I make these first as a blown glass piece, with swirls of four different whites and tans to get the storms to look good. Then, using data from Cassini, I grind and etch the rings otu of a sheet of iridescent glass. The iridescent on the bottom makes the ring plane glisten! Very cool!! Then the rings and the planet ball are attached. And with a loop on the top to hang on your tree. I like to hang these in the window during non-Christmas months. The sunlight coming through them is amazing!

I handblow these ornaments myself. Ornament size is about 2", and the rings about 4.5". With the rings, the ornament is heavier than my others and may be too heavy for little trees.

Collect the whole solar system!!! Contact me if you'd like to. The other planets are in the $20-$25 each range, but you'll get a discount if you purchase the whole set. Saturn is the only one with rings (I know... other planets have rings, but they're too skinny to recreate as a little ornament, silly!). I even include Pluto!
