An adorable little "Sea Sprout" hair stick made of cherry Wood. These little sea sprouts are the children of the Mermaids Tails hair sticks!

*The Tale of the Sea Sprouts*

Scrying Lake rests at the base of the Molareas Mountains, a watery mirror that reflects the heavens above. Under this glassy surface dwell the mermaids, who look up from the depths at the sky, waiting and watching the moons. It takes seven years for the wheel of the sky to turn and the three moons to rise over the mountains in unison. Only then, as the pilgrims make their long trek to Capillus Diurnitus, do the mermaids shed their tails and leave the waters to mate.

Once the three moons have changed position in the sky the mermaids return to Scrying Lake to regrow their tails and bear their young. Each time a mermaid regrows her tail it fans larger, the colors more luminous. The oldest mermaids have tails so stunning to behold that they shame even the most ornate tapestry a man could make.

After the mermaids have returned to the depths of the lake children from the local villages come with great baskets to collect the tails. The larger tails, left by adult mermaids, they carefully roll up and tuck into their basket, while the shed tails of baby mermaids, called sea sprouts, are gathered by the handful. These, among other things the children gather, are made into fanciful sundries the villagers sell to passing travelers

This one has a functional length of 4.25 inches(10.8cm) and a total length of 5.5 inches (14 cm). The tail is just opening, not yet able to spread its self out completely and show off like its Momma can! But it can learn to show off in the protective embrace of your hair! This is a delicate stick with a slight head curve but a fairly straight stick.

The tips of the tail are very delicate, do not put any pressure on them as you insert your sticks or they could break off!

How to care for your wooden hair toys!
1. Do not store them in the sun ,that includes in the car or by a window. But wear them in the sun and be happy!
2. Do not drop them!
3. Do not use them as a screwdriver or paint can opener!
4.They are natural wood, they CAN break...put as little sideways pressure as possible on them. WE do take hair pressures into account and under normal hair updos they should be fine, including lots of hair!
5.Do not let the dog have it!;0)
6.Even though they are sealed and would weather rain ,do not swim or shower in them!
7.ENJOY!

If you drop or break Your hair art, we will try to salvage it for a small fee or possibly give a discount on a new one (at our discretion) if it is not salvageable. We understand that life, kids, pets, and accidents happen! (salvageable would be, for example, to turn a broken 3 tine fork into a 2 tine and a single stick. We do not feel that a glue-up would always be an acceptable way to save a fork.)
