This wall sculpture is made from 1x6 stock (poplar) for the arch element and 3/8" x 3/4" stock (pine) for the grid element. The circles are cut and shaped from 1/4" x 6" solid stock (pine). Dowel elements are made from 3/4", 1/4" and 1/8" hardwood stock. The arch trim elements are bass wood. The sculpted grid is hand sawed and shaped with rasp, files and sandpaper. A primer and a minimum of three coats of high quality acrylic paint with a satin sheen is applied to the entire assembly.

This wall sculpture is meant to be mounted so that the arch stands off the wall approximately 1/4" allowing the grid to hang free from the wall creating interesting shadow patterns. Accent lighting would enhance the interest.

The somewhat neutral black and red colors were used so the sculpture can be displayed almost anywhere. However, custom color combination can be applied as requested. Contact me via the "Contact Seller" link to discuss the many possibilities.
