Product Description
This postcard depicts John Marshall's bookcase, presumably at the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities.

Marshall was the 4th Chief Justice of the United States and served from 1801-1835 in that capacity. He was also a congressman for the state of Virginia.

This card is in good shape. The only thing that keeps it from being very good are a couple of small creases, which are visible on the front of the card. There's some yellowing/spotting due to age, but otherwise, the card is pristine.

The card contains correspondence and canceled postage (one cent.) I marked the date as an estimate, because while I was able to date it by the postmark, that does not mean that is when the card was manufactured. There is no information about the manufacturer or the manufacture date on the card itself.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
The recipient of the card was my grandmother. Presumably, the sender was a friend.
