Speckled in bright blue, peach and ivory, the hand painted wood beads in this necklace look like tiny robins eggs. They have been paired with turquoise beads which really bring out the blue! This necklace is nice and slinky.

Because the necklace is made mostly of wood beads, which are very light, an added bonus is that it's very comfortable to wear. This is especially helpful for those who need to be careful due to neck or back problems.

Each bead component has been wrapped in silver colored wire and linked with a silver plated jump ring making the chain entirely handmade. I chose to use silver colored wire because, unlike sterling silver, it is resistant to tarnishing. For visual interest, the bead caps have been darkened and are a nice contrast with the bright silver finish of the wire.

Several coats of sealer have been applied to the hand painted wood beads in order to protect the paint and provide a glossy finish. While the sealer offers some water resistance, it is not recommended to bathe or go swimming while wearing the necklace as wood beads are not meant to get wet.

The necklace measures 19.5 inches / 49.5 cm in length and the toggle clasp is silver plated.
