Vintage Victorian hand carved shell cameo prong set at a later date in a patinated sterling frame. The cameo was most likley hand carved in Italy and sold unmounted. The frame is not as old. The back is plated in Rhodium and the front has been artificially patinated. The open work style of the mounting frames the cameo like lace and is quite attractive.

Size: From top to bottom of frame, approximately 1-1/2 inches, from side to side at the widest point, 1-6/8 inches.
