Happy holidays with these scrumptious carved imitation red cinnabar round stones. Resting above and below are Swarovski 5301 emerald crystal bicones and Swarovski 5310 dark red coral crystal bicones. Small silver-plated metal beads separate the crystals. At the bottom I have rolled up the wire into a quirky snowflake shape.

The dangle swings from .925 sterling silver ear wires that have been embellished with matching Swarovski 5301 dark coral crystal bicones and small silver-plated beads. The overall length of the earrings is approximately 2 1/4 inches from the tops of the ear wires. See photo for size comparison.

I loved the look of these red cinnabar stones and the history behind cinnabar is unique. In ancient times cinnabar was mined regularly for it's lovely color and carved into jewelry and idols. However, it was discovered that cinnabar contains massive amounts of mercury which is toxic to humans. Cinnabar is now mined for mercury where it is crushed and the mercury extracted.
