I knit it in an ultra-soft Merino wool. This yarn is best for baby hats because it wicks moisture and keeps baby warm, dry, and cozy (unlike petroleum based acrylic yarn).

The hat is sized to fit from 4 months to 1 1/2 years. However, when you hand wash this hat you can pat & stretch it to shape to get more months of wear. The hat on the three year old is that same hat as the baby is wearing and it still looks cute on him.
