Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Talented artist and illustrator Mel Odom's Gene Marshall doll debuted in 1995. Collecting Gene was the next step for many collectors of contemporary Barbie dolls. Gene was meticulously manufactured by the well-established Ashton-Drake Gallery in a hard vinyl with a porcelain texture. Gene's statuesque 15 ½" provided a fabulous canvas for stunning and detailed fashions. Her amazing wardrobe played a starring role in Gene's immediate success. With the storyline of a Hollywood starlet with a circle of friends and rivals, set in the dramatic (and fashionable) 1930's/1940's era, Gene encouraged collectors to "Share the Dream".
