The shining silver lines that make up the grille of a bright red 1932 Ford coupe sit between two round headlights in this 11x14 classic car art photo. The old hot rod is just keeping an eye on you, that's all. The chrome grille, flanked by two perfectly round headlights set center on either side is the focus of this photo-sitting dead center in the frame. We can just see the familiar flare of red 1930s curving wheel wells (front and back!) on either side of the hot rod's grille; the frame of the windshield rises up in the background. There's no hood ornament on this vermillion coupe, but the time-honoured cobalt blue "Ford" badge sits just between the silver lines of the almost-oval grille and the hood of the car.

I have always gotten a kick out of the way these old 1930s vintage cars really do seem to have faces. It's probably thanks to those prominent round headlights! Putting that red Ford "face" in the center of this classic car photo's frame was the best way to emphasize it-surely, I'm not the only one who sees and enjoys that countenance. The '30s Fords didn't necessarily have ears (though I'm sure the silver side-view mirrors could serve that purpose), but really, that "face" of a vintage car's grille and perfectly round headlights is all I need to see!

The red '32 Ford coupe in this photo belongs to my former neighbor, who kindly let me photograph his project car (which, I'm sure you'll agree, he did a fine job with). Of course I gave him the first in the limited run of this particular photo, and it still hangs in his garage.
