Product Description
Standing not far from Route 66 in Oklahoma, the vintage Redland movie theatre's Deco-style neon marquee, seen in this 5x7 documentary art photo, gleams bright red and green against a storm-darkened sky. Though marquee's neon wasn't turned on, the gorgeous vintage sign itself, in bright cherry red accented with greens and golden yellow, was bright as could be in old downtown Clinton, OK, and the colours pop beautifully against the dark, stormy clouds behind it!

Though the wind was really starting to howl (and I have to tell you, it came to nothing more than a few fat raindrops in the end), I had to snap a couple of photos of this handsome old movie theatre's gaily coloured marquee, standing proudly alongside the quiet Oklahoma main street.

The slight Art Deco flair seen in the sign's cherry red curves and golden stripes, the bright yellow stars set on a green field just above a neon braid and the big white "REDLAND" marching down the red tower of the sign-it is simply a beautiful vintage sign, one that has earned a broader audience, hence this 5x7 documentary photo. Small white neon arrows flow down the front "waterfall" of the marquee; surely they flashed sequentially, getting people's attention and luring them in for a movie and popcorn.

Though Clinton's Redland cinema is no longer screening movies, I am very glad to see the building's owner and the Oklahoma town have seen fit to let this marvellous vintage neon marquee remain.

Lovers of old movie palaces, vintage neon signs, Route 66 fans, and even those who simply love Americana will enjoy this documentary art photo of Clinton's Redland Theatre. With its bright colours and dramatic feel, it will add joy and personality to any home or office!

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
The classic old movie theatre in this 5x7 documentary art photo is no longer in business as a theatre-as is true of so many beautiful old theatres throughout the country. As you can see from the red letters on the marquee, the old Redland now serves as home for an apparel printing company. Despite some looking around online for information, I couldn't find any information on Oklahoma's Redland Theatre or its beautiful neon-bedecked marquee-all I was able to learn is that the Redland has 703 seats.

Perhaps someday someone in Clinton, OK will decide to re-open the theatre, ensuring the survival not only of the cinema, but the Redland's beautiful red, green, and yellow neon marquee!
