Product Description
The grand black, silver, and red tail fin rising high above the trunk deck of a handsome '57 Packard Clipper is the focus (so to speak!) of this 5x7 classic car art photo. An oh-so-stylish member of the Packard collection at Afton Station in Oklahoma, the stylish vintage car in this photo was one of my favourites there that day! The big black auto seemed perfect in every way to me (though I love old cars so much, it's not *too* hard to get that response from me). The Clipper's onyx steel body and silver chrome gleam beautifully, polished to absolute perfection.

The photo doesn't quite let us make out what it is reflected in the Packard's chrome bumper (and I'll never tell, never!), but the orange-red brown of the reflection is reminiscent of the reddish brown soil of Oklahoma, running in ribbons and strips throughout the state in which this car now resides. The '57 Clipper's swanky concave tail fin's red and white lights are framed by the cream-coloured vintage car sitting beside it-this photo shows us just enough of the other car's swooping wheel well and roof for those soft golden lines to offer a neat stylistic contrast to the more atomic rear end of the 1950s black Packard dominating the frame.

This 5x7 photo focuses on the Packard's fantastic tail fin, and more importantly, its reflection in the car's flawless paint. It is almost as if we have two tail fins to see, back-to-back on the Clipper's rear end. The car's fin rises up and out behind the automobile, ending in a beautiful arch mimicked in the way the silver bumper curves out. It certainly is beautiful symmetry! And you can bring all of the classic car, retro-beauty wonderfulness home with this classic car photo. Route 66, a sterling black Packard's big tail fin igniting visions of a bevy of 1950s beauties cruising down the road...it's a whole lot of joy right here, isn't it?

Professionally printed on archival-quality 5x7 photograph paper, this classic car art photo has a white border for easy framing and to protect the image itself. I sign, date, and number each photo on back prior to mailing it.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Afton Station, an old D-X filling and service station, sits right on Route 66 in Afton, Oklahoma. Purchased & restored by a terrific couple from Connecticut, it's a great place to stop, chat about the Mother Road, pick up any maps you might need, and, of course, swoon over all of the vintage Packards in the showroom! If you're in the area, do stop in and say hello to Laurel and all of her great cars-oh. And the penguin. She has a penguin now. ;)
