These handmade, sterling silver earrings, feature the gorgeous orange and turquoise hues of carnelian and amazonite. This rich color combination creates a sophisticated look in these artisan gemstone earrings.

These "Reflection Earrings" feature rust-orange carnelian beads with an unusual cut. The oblong carnelian beads have a gently curving "face" that reflects the light and adds more visual interest than a flat cut would have. Tiny sterling silver beads punctuate the ends of the carnelian beads.

Outstanding Brazilian amazonite rondelles (flattened rounds) rest above the curved carnelian beads. Amazonite has a lovely lustrous reflection, known as schiller, which is what is more commonly referred to as iridescence. The schiller is caused by reflections from planes in the amazonite's mineral grain or crystal structure. The result is a beautiful blue-green gemstone with a slightly silvery effect.

Small carnelian, rondelles (flattened rounds), top the Brazilian amazonite. The "Reflection Earrings" are finished with sterling silver ear wires.

This is the first time I have combined carnelian and amazonite. I think it is an amazing color combination that will bring you admiring compliments. These earrings are small enough to add pizzazz to casual wear; however the sophisticated gemstone combination makes them a fine choice for a date night or evening event. These are earrings that you will reach for, year 'round.
