Get ready for crisp autumn days with these smoky quartz earrings. The handmade fall lampwork leaves, with carnelian and brass accents will put you the mood to take a walk through the fallen leaves. Fall is my favorite time of year and the "Smoky Autumn Earrings" perfectly capture the oranges, browns, greens and yellows of the season.

Flawless translucent smoky quartz rounds gleam atop the lampwork (handmade glass) leaves. Ornate brass bead caps frame the top and the bottom of the smoky quartz, giving the stones the special flourish they deserve.

Small (4 mm) faceted rounds of burnt orange carnelian sit above the smoky quartz. The carnelian, brass and smoky quartz are an especially lovely fall color combination.

The handmade lampwork glass leaves really steal the show, though. Each leaf was individually made by lampwork glass artist, Raida Disbrow, of Havana Beads. Just like real fall leaves, they are a molted combination of brown, amber and hints of green. They even have the leave's veins formed into the glass. Simply lovely! And you'll feel lovely, too, when you wear the "Smoky Autumn Earrings".

I named these the "Smoky Autumn Earrings" because I have happy childhood memories of people burning leaves in big rusty burn barrels. The autumn air was filled with a delightful, smoky, woodsy smell. Undoubtedly it's illegal to burn leaves now, because it is so polluting, but the smoky color of the quartz brings back these memories. I can feel the crisp autumn air contrasting with the warmth given off from the burning leaves and I can smell the smoky air that still means fall to me. I hope these earrings bring your own happy autumn memories to mind whenever you wear them.
