The "Mango Delight" earrings feature flat rounds of handmade glass (aka lampwork glass) by glass artist, Susan Kennedy of Sue Beads. While the glass was still molten, Sue pressed it with a happy pinwheel texture.

This slightly muted orange color has been predicted, by the Pantone Color Institute, to be the most on-trend color for 2012. You will find it in many of the newest fashions, on celebrities and on the runways. You can easily update a blue, or neutral colored outfit by adding accessories, such as the "Mango Delight" earrings, in this on-trend color.

Wonderful Greek ceramic beads, in chambray blue and terracotta sit above the handmade glass. I love the way the terracotta color peeks out through the chambray blue on the edges of these ceramic beads. The terracotta is the perfect accent to highlight the orange of the glass and the carnelian stone perched above the ceramic beads.

The "Mango Delight" earrings are finished with handmade brass ear wires.

Orange, especially muted orange, is my favorite color. When I saw these orange lampwork glass head pins in the Sue Beads shop, I could just picture how much fun they would be to work with. I love the pinwheel texture, as well. Blue is a complementary color to orange, but these Greek ceramic beads are especially perfect because of the way the terracotta tones accent the handmade orange glass. I hope you enjoy wearing these earrings, as much as I did designing them.
