Sunset Contemplation Fused Glass Art Pendant Dichroic Picture Necklace. This artistic pendant has been hand etched to create a landscape with a person sitting on a hill beneath a tree watching the birds fly across the sunset sky. The colors of this pendant range from golden to shades of pink, blue and purple.

The pendant was made by layering dichroic glass over a black glass base and slowly kiln firing and cooling. I sketched in the picture with a marker and then permanently etched the art into the glass using a dremel tool. I then cut it to size and shaped the pendant, adding a bevel to soften the edge and frame the drawing. One more trip into the kiln to polish the edges and bring out the picture and I added a hematite bail.

The pendant measures about 2in (5cm) from top to bottom and 1in (2.5cm) across. It will be sent with an 18in (40cm) greek leather black cord so you can wear it immediately. If you would like a different length cord, please let me know. It will fit on most chains.

She went to her favorite spot, on the hill under the tree. She watched the sun set as she contemplated her decision. There was a lot to consider, saying yes would bring many changes into her life. It would curtail her freedom, she would have be more responsible, it would cost money sometimes expected and sometimes not. It would irrevocably join her life to that of another life. Kind of frightening. She liked living alone, liked being able to come and go as she pleased or to take off for a weekend without a thought. On the other hand, the thought of saying no made her feel sad and lonely. Waking up alone in her home after a bad dream or during a storm or when she heard a noise was not fun. She continued thinking as she watched the sun set. Finally, she smiled, she had known the answer all along. She stood up, and made the call: Hello, I was there earlier today. I'm on my way back to pick up Buster - his forever home starts tonight - I can't wait to bring him to this park.
