These playful dangling red cherries with green leaf earrings are a handmade reproduction of vintage cherry classic from the early 1940's. They are made from scratch using artist quality polymer clay and green telephone wire. The cheerful cherries are suspended from solid brass leverback vintage style scalloped earring findings that contain no nickel.

They measure 2 ¼ inches (5.57 centimeters) from the top of the earring finding to the bottom of the longest cherry. They are deceptively lightweight and, though I have small and sensitive ears, I find wearing my own pair to be very comfortable. I also find that when I wear them I often get compliments.

I first became familiar with the red cherry Bakelite jewelry of the late 1930's and early 1940's when I saw it featured on several episodes of Antiques Roadshow on PBS. I fell in love with the bright colors and the playful character of the dancing dangling cherries. After discovering that the real vintage Bakelite pieces were very expensive and often had stems in a state of severe disrepair I set out to design my own affordable replicas that remain true to the character of the originals.
