Details: I found this apron in a bag of thrifted items from what I am assuming was a German-American household. Some of the items were written in German and even had dates from the 30s on them. That does not mean this apron is from the 1930s but that it was included with these other handsewn items. Being a lover of hand embroidery I am seriously in awe of any historical stitching and I love that this has not only withstood the test of time, being thrown into a garbage bag that was destined for the dump, that the stitches are still intact and vibrant in color. Even the white cotton gauzy material has faded and yellowed while the embroidery seems to still be true to its color. Perhaps this is more modern than think as I do not know if these threads are machine or hand dyed.

Flaws: There are some faded brown stains, as seen in Picture 5.

Wash and dry gentle. Pre-soak stains. Do not use bleach.
Iron on cotton, silk or nylon settings depending on fabric type.

All of our linens are purchased during our thriftiqueing adventures because we love the color or designs and we want to share them with you. Some of them might be vintage. Fabrics are very hard to date and we are not experts. We will try to give you as much information as we can find on the prints.

We believe that you should purchase something because you love it NOT just because it is old or 'worth' something. Bring these into your homes and use them for every day or special occasions.

When you purchase vintage, especially things used in the kitchen, they tend to come with stains, rips, tears or seams pulling apart from use. It shows that the item was used and loved. If handmade just imagine the backstory of how it came into existence and wear with pride of the craftsmanship and the hands that worked to put it together.

All the linens we find are washed, ironed and have had any repairs made before selling. Your apron or scarf will come folded and may become wrinkled or creased again, just iron and wear!
